Fire Protection in Mixed Use Buildings

In this seminar we will go over several types of Fire Protection systems including Fire Sprinklers, Foam, Clean Agent, Dry, Pre-action, Wet and devices that are used in mixed use type Buildings. We will also go over the different types of water supplies, riser configurations and sprinkler selection. 


PRESENTER 

Robert Coonts is a National Technical Representative for The Viking Group, a fire protection manufacturer located in Hastings, Michigan.

Robert began his career in 1981 as an installer in Denver, Colorado.  He moved into design by 1984.  That eventually led to Robert starting his own successful company that he eventually sold.  Robert has 37 years’ experience in the fire sprinkler industry and has incorporated this into his national technical position.  This knowledge of contracting and design has made him a great resource for engineers and architects.  He has worked on many different types of projects with different types of systems including missile launch facilities, aircraft hangers, and large distribution facilities. He has seen the industry grow from having just a few types of fire sprinklers to hundreds of different types. He is a NICET Level III and is an ICC Certified Fire Inspector I.  He is an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoys playing many types of sports.
