Bureau of Reclamation Fire Protection Program

This seminar will overview the Bureau of Reclamation’s efforts to improve life safety and transformer fire protection at their hydroelectric generation facilities. We will discuss recent life safety improvements at Hoover Dam and some current projects involving life safety and transformer fire protection.

SPEAKER:

Michael Green, P.E. (Safety Engineer, Bureau of Reclamation)

Mr. Green is a safety engineer at the Bureau of Reclamation; Office of Security, Safety and Law Enforcement; Safety and Occupational Health Office located at the Denver Federal Center in Lakewood, Colorado. Michael has 29 years of experience in industrial safety and fire protection engineering. He began his career as a property insurance loss prevention consultant and worked at a Department of the Army pyrotechnics manufacturing facility before joining Reclamation in 2013. Michael currently supports the comprehensive safety program throughout Reclamation with a specialization in fire protection and life safety. He is a Professional Engineer registered in the State of Arkansas, Certified Safety Professional and Certified Fire Protection Specialist.
