Mansour Alipour-fard has a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering and an M.S. degree in fire protection engineering from WPI. He is a registered professional engineer, a Certified Building Code Official, and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator. As the campus Fire Marshal and Building Official for nearly two decades, Mansour was involved in the code analysis and plan review for numerous University of Colorado at Boulder facilities including athletics buildings, residential facilities, business facilities and science laboratories as well as several fire investigations.
Previously and as a consultant Mansour conducted design, code analysis and plan review for numerous facilities including several hospitals such as the Yale New Haven Hospital, several hotels and convention centers such as the Sheraton Hotel and Convention Center in Valley Forge, PA, several office and residential buildings in Boston, MA, and numerous college campus dormitories, science/laboratory buildings, classroom and administrative buildings and athletics facilities in New England and Pennsylvania and two shopping malls in Crawley and London, UK.
As a consultant, Mansour Alipour-fard conducted computer fire models and Performance-Based Design for numerous projects. These projects included fire modeling for smoke extract system for Crawley Shopping Mall in Crawley, UK; computer fire modeling for smoke extract and sprinkler and detector activations for Paternoster Square Shopping Complex in London, UK; assistance in computer fire modeling for the investigation of the fatal fire at DuPont Plaza Hotel in Puerto Rico; over 50 minor computer fire models for the National Park Service historic structures on the East Coast, US; and numerous computer fire models for fire investigations in residential and business facilities.
